Tough Week for Men’s Basketball

Tough Week for Men’s Basketball

It has been a tough and crazy week for the Hartnell Basketball Panthers. On February 3, Men’s Basketball traveled to Saratoga to face West Valley. The Panthers were defeated on the last play of the game losing by a score of 64-62. Later that week, Hartnell visited San Jose City College. The Panthers could not rally past San Jose and were defeated by a score of 62-55. Sophomore Riley Knowles, had 13 points and Jessy Jurado had 5 assists.

Last Friday, Hartnell hosted De Anza College. This game was dedicated to Coaches vs. Cancer in collaboration with the Basketball Lady Panthers. All proceeds from the gate will go to cancer research. Despite Riley Knowles 20-point game, the Panthers lost 82-70. Greats news! Sophomores Riley Knowles and Jesus Salinas are both being recruited by multiple four-year universities, and they both have been selected to play in the State Soph Showcase during the State tournament. Assistant Coach Steve Terry was also selected to help coach teams during the showcase.
