On October 27, 2017 the Hartnell Men’s Soccer team played its last home game of the season against Gavilan College. Right from the blow of the whistle, Sophomore Daniel Gasca scored in the 19’ minute with the help from teammate Jorge Cerna giving the team an early 1-0 lead against Gavilan. Just before the half, Esteban Barragan placed a nice lob pass torwards Juan Garcia to head it in for a goal, for his first goal of the season giving Hartnell a 2-0 lead at the half. During the second Half, Hartnell excelled in both the corner kick-category and shot-category as Harnell took 11 shots to goal, while Gavilan had only 2; the Panthers had 8 corner kick opportunities, while Gavilan had none. Adrian Serrato netted in two goals while Santiago Morales and defender Marco Zepeda added one apiece, giving Hartnell a dominant final score of 6-0 win against Gavilan. On Halloween, Hartnell traveled to Foothill College to continue their three-game winning streak. The Panthers have had great success on the road this season with a 4-1 away record. Despite Foothill’s 2-9-4 (.267) overall record, they have been in many close games this season. The game went back and forth between both squads, but Jorge Mederos scored his first goal of the season in minute 88’- no better time to help his team prevail to a 1-0 win against Foothill! In the span of 4 games, the Panthers have scored a total of 19 goals! Adrian Serrato has led the team in scoring with 5 goals in the four games. Hartnell sits second in the Coast-North conference with a 7-1-3 (.800) record and an overall 12- 2-2 (.794) record with a 4 game winning streak. Go Panthers!
