Men’s Soccer Opens Conference at 1-0-1

Hartnell Men's Soccer went 1-0-1 to start Coast Conference play during the week of Sept. 24, with a 0-0 draw at Skyline on Sept. 25 and a 2-0 win at MPC on Sept. 28.

In the Skyline game, both teams had late chances before settling for the draw. Jesus Parra (Alisal) had 10 saves in goal to earn his first shutout of the season. Box score

Against MPC, the Panthers picked up a goal in each half, first from Erik Herrera (Watsonville) and then from Mario Hernandez (North Monterey County). Isaac Frias (Watsonville) and Ronaldo Aguilera (North Salinas) split the duties in goal for the team's second consecutive shutout. Box score

The team is 5-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in Coast Conference play. Next up is De Anza on Oct. 2, followed by a home game versus Evergreen on Oct. 5. Both games start at 4 p.m.
