Bio

Jamie Pedroza enters her 17th season as a Kinesiology Instructor and Head Volleyball Coach of the Hartnell College Panthers.  Since starting the beach volleyball program in 2022, the program has already had much success.  The 2024 team qualified to the CCCAA Northern California tournament. Several of the programs individual pairs have reached the CCCAA State tournament, and in 2024 had the Coast Conference MVP's.     

In 2007, Coach Pedroza was the Head Varsity Girls Coach at North Monterey County High School.  From 2004-2006, she was the Lead Assistant Coach at California State University, Monterey Bay (NCAA Division II).  Her duties included recruiting, skills development, weights and conditioning, game preparation, and directing the summer camp.  Coach Pedroza was also the Director of the Monterey Volleyball Club from 2003-2006.  She has additional experience coaching club, camps, private lessons, and at the high school level.

After red-shirting at San Diego State University (NCAA Division I), Coach Pedroza played at Palomar Community College for one year before transferring to CSU Monterey Bay.  She finished her eligibility at CSUMB by playing three years for the Otters.  Her playing accolades included Scholar-Athlete awards, Team MVPs, All-Conference selections, NAIA Player of Week, and top ten school rankings in various statistical categories.

Coach Pedroza has an Associate of Arts from Palomar College (2001), a Bachelor of Science in Earth Systems Science and Policy with a Minor in Coaching from California State University, Monterey Bay (2004), and a Master of Arts in Education, also from CSUMB (2008).  A native of Escondido (CA), Coach Pedroza now resides in Marina with her husband Abe, daughter Ava, son Pierce, and dog Cali.
