The Gary Shaw Last Chance Meet held at Hartnell College provided the men's and women's teams to compete at home prior to the Coast Conference Championship. With several community colleges in attendance along with D3 UC Santa Cruz, the Panthers produced several key marks toward the championship portion of the season.
Sophomore Corbin Osborn secured the much desired "A" standard in the triple jump with a lifetime best 13.92m. That mark moved the Salinas High School graduate into the top 20 all-time in program history. Freshman Joshua Na matched that feat with his personal best 43.91m in the discus also moving him into the top 20. Sophomore Logan Bayhonan won the long jump competition with a personal best 6.80m jump. Ivan Martinez-Galindo lowered his personal best in the 3k steeplechase to 9:49.28. He will head into the Coast Conference Championship as the heavy favorite in his first season in the event. Decathlete Nathaniel Aceves-Aguilar dipped under 17 seconds in the 110mHH for the first time with his 16.65. Anthony Noriega set a personal best in the 400mIH (61.25). Julian Vargas ran the 1500 meters in 4:05.56 with Erik Luna Bedolla setting a personal best 4:10.14. Sophomore Adrian Manriquez posted a team-leading 100 meters in his season debut 11.08.
The Panthers will compete next at the 2026 Coast Conference Championship on Friday-Saturday, April 24-25. Friday events will be contested at San Jose City College with the majority of the meet being held at Monterey Peninsula College on Saturday. The Hartnell men are the defending team champions with the women looking to avenge a narrow seven point defeat to De Anza College last year.
