2015-16 Season in review: The Hartnell Lady Panthers came into the season with no wins in their last 48 games overall and also losing their last 24 Coast Conference games. After getting the job in late June, 2015, Carpenter and assistant coaches, Alex Medina, Jim Rimando and Greg Grio had a daunting task but rounded up every available player for the team and were pleasantly surprised with the Lady Panthers. Returning players, Brittany Lindsey, Karen Camarena and Mayra Marquez along with new Salinas and Valley high school players, Clarissa Serrano, Martha Grimes, Gabby Garcia, Abby Molina, Aliyah Urzua, Erica Cano, Lannie Calunsag, the Tolentino sisters, Frances and Valerie, who were all locals. The only player who was not local was Toni Ann Cameron from New Zealand. This team, despite injuries, class and work schedules worked hard every day at practice as they bonded and played very well together showing massive improvement from previous seasons and from the start to finish this season. The team won 7 games overall and 2 in the Coast Conference. There were also some close losses. The statistics proved what coaches were saying, that Hartnell was one of the most improved teams in California. The future looks bright with 4 starters and 7 total players returning.
