Annual Hartnell Women’s Basketball Game

It was a good day to be a Hartnell Panther student and Alumni as familiar faces gathered on January 31, 2018 for the Annual Hartnell Women’s basketball game. With many family and friends in the crowd, bragging rights for the 2018 alumni game were on the line. It was a showcase between the old-school ball and newpaced ball, but it was fun and competitive. During the first half both teams were tied at 23 points, thanks to efforts by Hazel Gapol (#32), Brittany Lindsey (#2) (2014-2016) and Martha Grimes (#33) (2015-2017) on the alumni side. However, in the second half 2017-2018 Lady Panthers stepped up, businesslike scoring 41 points with efforts by Davaughna Thompson (#24), Alexus Andrade (#21) and Dallania Pantoja Perez (#31). Current 2017-2018 Lady Panthers came out on top, with a demanding 49-64 final score. Furthermore, after the game, Alumni Hazel Gapol (#32) and Davaughna Thompson (#24) were both awarded MVP honors to top off the night. With the season dwindling the Lady Panthers only have three more home games 2/2, 2/9 and 2,14 to complete the 2017-2018 season. Go Panthers!
