Retamoza and Ware sign with Westcliff University

The Hartnell Women's Soccer team announced the signing of Lexi Retamoza and Jada Ware to continue their academic and athletic careers at Westcliff University.

Retamoza (Salinas, CA/Everrett Alvarez HS) has been the goalkeeper for the past two seasons. As a freshman she played in 21 games starting 20. She totalled 60 saves, with 1.15 goals against average and a .750 save percentage. She also had five shutouts garnering Coast Conference Honorable-Mention honors. This past season she started in 17 games. She totalled 65 saves, with a .96 goals against average and a .813 save percentage with four shutouts and was named 1st Team All Coast Conference.

Ware (Pacific Grove, CA/Pacific Grove HS) came in as a freshman and was immediately an impact player. She played in 25 games starting in 23 of those contests. She scored five goals, with an assist, and tallied 11 points, garnering 2nd Team All Coast Conference. This past season she played in 23 games starting in 20. She scored three goals, with an assist, and tallied seven points and was named 1st Team All Coast Conference performer.

During their two years both players contributed to the success of the Panther soccer team. In their two years they helped the team finish with a 25-13-10 record, made the playoffs both seasons advancing for the first time in school history to the Elite 8. 

Retamoza and Ware will join fellow Panther teammates Julissa Quintana and Heidi Vasquez who also committed to Westcliff. The Warriors participate in National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and are a member school of the California Pacific Conference (CAL-PAC).
