Barrett Gets "B" Mark at Final Home Meet
After a year without a home meet on the Hartnell College campus, the Panthers wrapped up their third and final home meet during the 2025 season at the Gary Shaw Last Chance Meet. With six programs in attendance, the competition produced several notable performances as the Panther women preppred for the upcoming Coast Conference Championship.
Sophomore Isolina Barrett threw 120 feet in the discus for the first time in her career in her final competition in the home ring. Barrett 's mark of 36.79m also acheived the State "B" prior to the Northern California Championship on May 2-3. She is now just two feet away from the top 20 all-time in the discus. Fellow sophomore Roselyn Olivo won two events taking the 1500 meters in 5:04.39 and 5000 meters in 19:02.45. Freshman Janai Orozco improved on her 800 meters State "B" to 2:25.10, just short of the event win. Dominayah Black continued her fine jumping since coming over from basketball. She cleared 1.50m in the high jump for another competition and improved both her long jump (4.55m) and triple jump (10.38m). Sophomore Daisy Andrade pushed her javelin best out to 27.47m. Freshman Yareli Meza flirted with a sub 20:00 5000m at 20:00.21. Emily Orozco ran her second fastest 400mLH in 68.38.
